Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

If you have any other questions, feel free to email us at tuscarora.key@gmail.com or check out our contact page and email one of our officers! We are always open to answering any questions you may have for us about the club!

When are the Key Club meetings?

Key Club meetings are every other Wednesday at 8:15 in the auditorium. Check our calendar for the specific dates. A general meeting means that it is for all of the members, and the executive meeting is only for the executive council. Your goal should be to come to every meeting. We understand that there are sometimes conflictions that prevent you from coming. In this case, please email us that you will not be able to make it. We do keep record of who is at the meetings, and you need to attend a majority of them to remain in the club.

What do we do at the meetings?

After signing in, we review any past events that may have passed and reflect on them. We also introduce any upcoming volunteer opportunities and give you all the information you need to sign up. We plan new ideas for events, answer questions, and more. If you miss a meeting, check our documents page and look at the meeting minutes to see what you missed!

Where do I sign up for events?

All of our events are listed on the calendar tab of the website. We will dicuss the events at meetings, but feel free to check it at any time. Click the "sign up" button on the top of the calendar page to open the google docs survey to sign up for events. Please make sure that you actually volunteer at the event you signed up for, there may be consequences if you don't follow through.

Where can I get updates and notifications for the club?

Follow us on twitter, join our facebook page, connect to our remind 101 text messages (text the subject @thskey15 to the number 608-561-4449), and come to the meetings.

How many hours do I need for the year?

You need at least 40 hours for the entire school year. If you're a senior, you need at least 50 hours in order to get a medal. If you want to run for office next year, you also need 50 hours. You need at least 4 Key Club sponsored events for the year (These are events that we provide to you on the website, during the meetings, etc.) We are no longer counting athletic training and managing as volunteer hours, since a varsity letter is recieved from this. If you have any questions about which hours are accepted, send us an email!

How do I track my hours?

We are no longer using Volunteer Loudoun this year. We are returning back to the paper log forms. Make sure you bring the paper with you to every event, and have the sponsor sign your sheet confirming you were there. Print out an hour log from our documents page!

I'm on probation, what does that mean?

In order to remain in the club, you must fulfill the hour and attendance requirements. If you failed to complete these the previous school year, when you return to school in the fall, we will notify you that you will be on probation this semester. This means that you must complete a certain amount of hours before winter break and attend all the meetings in order to remain in the club the next semester. You must get 20 hours before the start of second semester.
